Dr. Ankur Gupta is a renowned Orthopaedic from Raipur rendering his expertise in joint problems at NHMMI and Sadbhavna Clinic in Raipur.
On the academic front, Dr. Gupta successfully cleared his MBBS from prestigious Maulana Azad Medical College in 2001. Subsequently, he enrolled for the MS (Ortho) course at Dr. RML Hospital where he acquired vast experience in the field of Traumatology and Joint Replacement under the esteemed guidance of his teachers Dr. A K Khare, Dr. B S Murty and Dr. Deepak Mittal. Post completion of his MS course in 2005, Dr. Gupta pursued MCh (Ortho) from AIIMS, New Delhi where he obtained wide exposure in the Joint Replacement Unit under the tutelage of Prof. Surya Bhan, Prof. P P Kotwal and Prof. Rajesh Malhotra. This was supplemented with additional experience in Arthroscopy and Spine surgery under the wings of Prof. HL Nag and Prof. Arvind Jaiswal. Dr. Gupta’s quest for in-depth knowledge led him to Right Hospital in Chennai (Retd. HOD of Plastic Surgery, Stanley Medical College) where he learnt hand & micro vascular/neural surgery for three months, which included flap coverage for compound fractures with Prof. G Balakrishnan as his mentor.
Post training, Dr. Gupta joined as a consultant with Jeevan Jyoti Hospital, an established tertiary care centre and a reputed hospital in Allahabad, UP. Within a year’s time, Dr. Gupta independently executed complex trauma, knee & hip replacements, hand surgeries, micro neural repairs, spinal trauma and knee arthroscopic procedures in over 500 cases leading to a two-fold increase in patients availing OPD services. In an experimental move, Dr. Gupta shifted to Hanumant Hospital, Mahuva, Gujarat at a less pay so that he could put his clinical skills to test. He tried to bridge the gap at the orthopaedic department which was without any surgeon for over a year. Inspite of facing tough competition from local surgeons and no provision for marketing and advertisements for promotion of the hospital, Dr. Gupta steadily directed the loss making department to a profitable one with a monthly volume of 40-50 patients involving hip, knee, elbow replacements.
Dr. Gupta is an honest well-trained individual with high communication skills and the confidence to work in a big set-up achieving heights of success.
